Lisbon's two most iconic monuments, the tower of Belem and the monastery of Jerónimos, as well as the Presidential palace are located here, as well as Lisbon's modern art museum and the concert hall.
You have plenty of restaurants in close vicinity. You are surrounded by swathes of green and nice parks, and close by the river-front, ideal for jogging or cycling.
The area is particularly safe, too.

Lisbon's main cultural center CCB (Centro Cultural de Belem) stands 500m down the road. Check online for concerts, performances and exhibitions.
Getting around
Uber and Bolt are very affordable
Remember to use either Bolt or Uber, as there are plenty and the prices are a fraction of what you are used to. If you are a group of four, probably cheaper than using the public transportation means

Rent a bike: enjoy Lisbon and the waterfront!
Belem is ideally located to move around with a bike.
You can use the public bikes, called Gira (download the APP), which you pick and drop off in docking stations. The nearest one is 600m from our place in Av. da Índia 170, 1400-038 Lisboa. This is a bargain solution.
You can also rent a bike from private companies. Check online for lisbonbikerentals, lisbonbikerentals, bikeiberia, etc, etc.
Remember that you can park the bike safely in the garage, when you come home

Take the ferry and go to the beach
You will be invited by the river. You can cross it with the ferry the pier in Santa Maria de Belem and drop in Trafaria. You can then walk/cycle 3km to the beach of São Joao da Caparica.
