Got a large group with all different levels of skiing and riding experience? Then Camelback is the place for you. This mountain, located in Tannersville, PA, has a huge team of instructors ready to give lessons to kids of all ages looking to learn to ski or ride. Of course, there are always folks who’d rather not learn at all, so they can rent a tube and head to the country’s largest snow tubing park, also located at Camelback. If you’d like to make a weekend out of it, Camelback has great lift ticket deals with a stay at their on resort hotel.

Pennsylvania’s second tallest waterfall, Dingmans Falls, is located a short distance away from Raymondskill Falls. While the path is about half a mile to get to the falls, it is along a handicapped-accessible wooden boardwalk. Along this path is another impressive waterfall, Silver Thread Falls, which tumbles down the mountain in a very narrow channel.

City/town information

Nestled in the southern Poconos, Jim Thorpe is a destination for shopping, outdoor adventure, live music and dining. A perfect small town in the foothills of a valley in the Poconos. They have scenic trains that go through the mountainsides. The downtown main street is really beautiful for all seasons with shopping and restaurants (including their Christmas Festival!) We strongly recommend the slightly longer drive to see this destination.

If you like regional art, you won’t Milford would be our recommendation. Considered the northern gateway to the Delaware Water Gap, Milford features enough art galleries and antique stores. . Milford is also home to the The Columns Museum of the Pike County Historical Society and Grey Towers, once the home of Pennsylvania Governor Gifford Pinchot.

Food scene

Our personal favorite. The feeling is very local, and intimate. The food is amazing while the drink selection is well done. It is a very casual setting along the river.

The Delaware Water Gap was previously known to be a jazz music destination. The Deer Head Inn is the last standing relic to this era. It still has live jazz and great food!
