This is definitely a towny bar so if you're looking for an authentic Louisville experience, get yourself to Check's. I go on Thursday for a turkey club, french fries, sweet tea, and karaoke.

They don't deliver, but they have the best pizza in town. Try The New Colossus if you like pesto. Eat in or take it to go.

Arts & Culture

I'm a little biased because I work here; however, The Speed is the largest visual art museum in the commonwealth, and our exhibitions are top-notch. Check out Art Sparks, our all-ages interactive gallery. Looking at art shouldn't be boring, and at The Speed, it isn't.

If sports history and memorabilia is more your speed, check out the Slugger Museum and Factory. You can get your name put on a custom, mine-bat, but beware: bats can't be carried on airplanes (they MUST be placed in checked luggage!).

Parks & Nature

The best views of the city are seen from the Indiana-side of the river. Get some air and take a walk across a repurposed railway bridge or just check out the bridge's nightly light show from the park. If the exercise itself isn't enticing enough, there's a frozen yogurt place just at the other end (and a bar too).

Great biking and walking paths as well as easy hiking trails and a dog park (Angus' favorite, in fact). Take a picnic and maybe a stroll through the woods. Just don't forget your sunscreen and bug spray (ticks have been particularly bad this summer).
