Wild Olive is just two blocks down Flad at 2201 S. 39th Street. They are super friendly and knowledgeable. While predominantly a wine shop, they also have other boozy offerings and small plates/charcuterie items (smoked olives!!) with indoor and outdoor seating.

Gallery Pub is a really chill spot that has live music every Friday and Saturday evening (and some during the week). Their menu is small but mighty; I highly recommend the Goat Cheese in Arrabbiata. The owners and chef are super personable. It’s just 3 blocks down Thurman at 4069 Shenandoah Avenue.

SweetArt is my favorite bakery in the city. Their hours are limited but their cupcakes and brownies are worth the obscurity. They also have a plethora of vegan options. Their Saturday brunch offers GIANT cinnamon rolls and I cannot recommend their spicy “chicken” sandwich more highly - it was featured on Netflix’s Fresh Fried and Crispy!
