Traveler advice

What to pack

Up North Weather varies!

The day could start out cold and cloudy, and even rainy and still end up being a fabulous day at the beach or on a hike! It is Up North, Michigan. Be prepared for all types of weather!
Don't miss

Saturday's Farmers Market

From 9am - 1pm, the Farmers Market is a community must. Cash only. Vendors from veggies to farm-raised meet to various crafts and plants all come together at Mineral Springs Park.
Don't miss

Mineral Springs Park

This beautiful park runs along the Betsie Bay - lush grass, boat slips, boats in the bay, a playground, gardens and of course, the famous mineral fountain - smells like rotten eggs, but is sure to be a health benefit and an experience you won't forget! The Library is at the end of the park and has a fabulous children's area and programs for kids.
Getting around

Great walking or bicycling town!

Parking downtown can be challenging during the busy season. Most of the shops and restaurants are concentrated in the downtown area. However, navigation around Frankfort and the surrounding areas is pretty straight forward. There is only one blinking stop light in the city!
