Our favorite Turkish spot. Everything on the menu is great. Get the babaganoosh and fresh pita. It's near the Tenderloin, but don't worry - despite being seen as a scary part of SF, the Tenderloin also hosts some of the best food spots.

BEST OYSTERS! This lesser known spot has great prices and an excellent selection. You can buy a few plates of cooked or raw oysters and a bottle of wine and sit by the water while you eat. A little bit further of a drive from Tamalas Bay and Hog Island Oyster, but worth the drive. Free parking.

One of the best restaurants in SF! Food is remarkable, wine list is perfect. The pinsas (think pizza, but lighter and more delicious) are to-die-for. We went back twice in 3 days once we discovered it!

ESSENTIAL SF weekend days are spent with friends listening to music, eating burritos, drinking beer, and people watching in Dolores Park. Park is on a hill, so you have a stadium seated view of the entire city. Typically very warm and not too windy. Lots of park vendors will walk around and offer you edibles or even freshly cut open coconuts with rum poured in!

Drinks & Nightlife

Great live EDM DJs, often times will have other live art (painting, dance, etc). Better music but with less tourists. :) Two different rooms/stages. Great dancing. Dress code is more relaxed here, you can wear jeans and sports shoes. Check the website for dress code restrictions before hand, just in case they have a special event. Doors tend to open at 10, get there around 10:30 - 10:45. Coat check available. Bathroom lines are long, so use the restroom before you get in to save yourself the hassle.

Sightseeing

I've lived in the Bay Area my entire life and the Alcatraz tour never gets old. They have an excellent audio tour narrated by past inmates. It's informational and a bit creepy! You can go into the cells and walk over the majority of the grounds. Plus a fun ferry ride is included.
