Reindeer spotting!
Description
The beautiful Norwegian reindeer wander over large areas. Join us looking for them!
Perhaps we will find a herd of reindeer on a small peak or on a snowbank up in the mountains.
Perhaps we hear the reindeer grunting from behind a hilltop on their trek through the mountains.
That's when we make a quick plan and try to get as close as possible without disturbing the animals.
We only go on reindeer safari when we think there is a good chance of meeting reindeer.
Remember good shoes and bring enough clothes. In the mountains weather can change quickly.

Together with the local artist Kristen Olav Grøttebø you will paint a 20x20 motif called «typical Lærdal» and learn simple techniques on how art painting can be done. «Typical Lærdal» is Grøttebø's signature painting.
Ghe gallery is open from 11 am to 16 pm from June 1 to August 31. The artist is present every other day of the year as well.
On this pier, the boats docked with goods ment for transport on the Kongevegen in the old days.
Easel, plate, paint, brush - all the equipment you need - are included in the price.
You can take the painting you paint home with you as a selfmade souvenir from Lærdal.
NB: Limited number of participants. The first 5 who order have priority.

Bike, pub and stave church
Description
You cycle past small sheep and goat farms, stop by an Irish pub on the way, and end up at Borgund Stave Church.
You meet the guide at Borlaug, where the E16 splits before the mountainous Filefjell and Hemsedal, and hop on the bikes that are standing at Hi Borlaug. The trip down through Borgund goes smoothly along the old E16 (asphalt) through a typical mountain village in the Norwegian West.
The guide leads the way and we stop a few times to hear about life in such a village, history and cultural heritage, everyday life, folk life.
We will see the the grave of, and hear about, the Viking king «Spenning», we will look at the art of a chainsaw artist - and much more.
We also visit the village's meeting point, the Irish pub, and hear the story of the 5 local men who started this waterhole. Here you can buy something to refresh yourself on, before the cycle ride continues along the old road nr. 60 and ends at Borgund Stave Church.
Here the guide bid farewell and you can visit Norway's national treasure, the Borgund Stave Church.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT: The bicycles are used. And not only that. They have been physically rescued from the waste container, repaired and fixed, and given a new life here in Borgund. In this tour you are participating in sustainable and circular tourism.

Galdane
Description
Kongevegen through Galdane is packed with legends and experiences, and have inspired national icons.
The legendary Olavsklemma, the majestic Laukebergbakken, the picturesque Soknefossen, and the fascinating Galdane croft are only four examples of what you can experience along this stretch.
Galdane is the section that follows Øygardsvegen if you head west, and Selto–Ljøsne if you head east.
If you head west, the section starts at Sjurhaugen. Parking and toilet facilities are available.
DANGEROUS
The road through Galdane quickly became known as one of the most difficult and dangerous stretches across Filefjell. In its narrow valley with its steep and rocky terrain, there is only room for the river and the road.
When conditions were icy, the area could be treacherous. It was even worse when the ice melted, and the mountain threatened with avalanches and rock slides.
One of the first points of interest that you will encounter as you walk west from Sjurhaugen, is Olavsklemma.
According to legend, king Olav the Sacred rode through Lærdal in 1023 to force the people of Valdres to convert to Christianity, and the pass was too narrow for the king and his army. He then pressed his horse’s rear end against the mountain, and with this widened the road. The marks can still be seen in the mountain side...
In reality, Olavsklemma is a gorge created by river Lærdalselvi over thousands of years.
You will also see the remains of German fortifications from the Second World War in the area. The German occupation forces understood the importance of control of the road across Filefjell through Lærdal.
