Hang out by the water downtown and you are sure to see all kinds of watercraft from stand-up paddleboards to mega-yachts. As you watch you may notice many boats that make their way up the alley only to turn around and leave immediately... hence the name "Ego Alley".

Drive to the New Carrollton station and take the metro into the city, DC has a pretty good public transit system, so no need for a car. 2. See the monuments at night, there are fewer crowds and the heat is more bearable. 3. Have Ethiopian food for dinner if you are a fan, DC has the largest concentration of Ethiopians in the US so restaurants are plentiful and delicious.
