Nature Coast at its best
Crystal River is renowned as the center of the Nature Coast where you have year-round kayaking, boating and air-boating.
One-hundred-eighty fresh water springs in Citrus County provide fresh water that flows into the Gulf of Mexico. There is fresh-water fishing, salt-water fishing with both fresh and salt-water fish caught where the river meets the Gulf.
Citrus County has about 150,000 residents. It is 20 miles from downtown Crystal River to the county seat in Inverness.
There are grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants and shops surrounding downtown. There are also a wide variety of businesses where visitors can hire tour guides to show them around and businesses at which you can rent kayaks, canoes or pontoon boats.
