It doesn't look like much from the outside but there is a cafe here in a barn conversion with fresh baked goods and there are a few shops to have a look at. Lovely for a coffee or an afternoon tea.

You can pay to go into the ruins but there is also a free, short walk around the outside that takes you up close and gives you a bit of a leg stretch. Very calm place to visit.

The site, which is owned and managed by Bassetlaw District Council, covers an area of 300 acres of parkland but there is a 3K walk around the lake that's nice and easy. Designated as a Local Nature Reserve, the park links into Dyscarr Wood the Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) recognised as one of the best examples of a limestone ash-wych elm wood in Nottinghamshire. The park itself comprises of varies woodlands, wildlife and butterfly meadows, open grassed areas, a large fishing lake, play areas and much more for families and visitors to enjoy throughout the year.
