Beautiful interior and even better food. The menu changes from time to time, but the roast duck is my favorite. Cocktails are out of this world. This spot is a little pricier.

Walk along the water and maybe even take a swim off the dock if the weather permits. This spot is a local favorite (especially in the summer). Check out Kennan’s At The Pier up a block for sunset appetizers and cocktails.

The quintessential Bellingham hike with spectacular views. You can start the Oyster Dome Trail from along Chuckanut Drive for a 3 mile climb (6 miles out and back). Or, get a head start by driving up to the Samish Overlook (this only cuts off about a mile, but you’ll save nearly 1,000 ft. of elevation gain). Check out AllTrails before starting to make sure the difficulty is okay for you.

The university itself is a sight to see, with the campus clad in brick and sculptures sprinkled throughout the grounds. Look up a self-guided sculpture tour on the college’s website to learn more about where to go and the history behind each piece. The Western Gallery is also great to check out for rotating art exhibitions.
