I love this spot because it's really just so authentically Jamaican but also authentically Cape Town. It's a hangout for locals.. it has amazing views across the harbour and is just a cool spot to chill and sip on a cocktail amongst chilled people on a lazy afternoon.

This awesome spot at the Kalk Bay harbour is buzzing with activity. Please take cash with you, they don't take electronic or card payments. Amazing fish dishes and you are able to buy fresh fish from the fishermen on the sale tables... Very cool spot. Yummy food for brilliant prices. - Only serve seafood.

Welcome to the Old Biscuit Mill. A vibrant, warm-hearted little village in the heart of Woodstock where talented people come together to share, collaborate and well... show off the heart-felt passion. The Mill is home to day and night markets, dynamic office space, a range of workshops and designer stores, delicious farm stalls, decadent restaurants as well as an inspiring line-up of festivals and productions. Come and explore the Mill and meet some of South Africa's most talented, innovative designers, artists, photographers, and connoisseurs of fine taste and decor. (credit: www.theoldbiscuitmill.co.za). I personally love the Neighbourgoods Market hosted at the mill on a Saturday morning.

This is not a mall in the sense of a mall. It does however have loads of shopping spots in the building. The Bromwell is a transformed sophisticated and refined boutique mall that offers an array of limited edition and one-off pieces. Once The Bromwell Hotel, a landmark of Woodstock since 1927, now a lush destination for all things glorious. Wander from room to room to find the pick of South African and international designers. Art, sculpture, rare decor, jewellery and top end fashion and accessories awaits.

Drinks & Nightlife

Come to Devil’s Peak Brewing Company for a beer in their taproom and a delicious burger. Here you can try a wide range of pale ale’s lagers, IPA’s and golden ale’s. Besides serving awesome beer on tap, the Brewer’s Co-Op features a quiz night every Wednesday. What’s great about this place is the fact that members of Co-Op who produce their own craft beer can sell it at the brewery.

One of the country’s only true speak-easy bars, accessed through a Chocolate Café, and nestled within a Mediterranean-style secret courtyard. Inspired by the history of the heritage building itself (which was a morgue until recently) and the "Quack" medicinal history of gin and Juniper (the defining ingredient of gin), The Gin Bar offers elixirs, tinctures and potions to cure all manner of ills.

Entertainment & Activities

The V&A Waterfront is a mixed-use development comprising residential and commercial property, hotels, retail stores, dining, leisure and entertainment facilities. Spanning 123 hectares, it’s a space where you can work, live, eat and play. I personally love to visit the Two Oceans Aquarium, watch local artists and musicians don the walkways with their wares and music and amble through the African Arts and Crafts mall. The wheel has excellent views of the city and is close to the food market which buzzes with activity and offers artisnal fare for every gastronomic wish.
