Parks & Nature

From the centre of Marone, head out in the direction of Zone and you arrive in Cislano where the entrance of the Regional Reserve of the Pyramids of Erosion is situated in a convenient parking with playground. Inaugurated in 1984, it is named after the particular shape that the deposit of glacial sand, boulders and pebbles has acquired over the centuries, turning into stretches of rock up to 30 meters high, with large boulders lying on top of them, serving as protective shields. https://www.visitlakeiseo.info/en/experience-the-lake/sport-and-nature/trekking-and-walking/643-le-piramidi-di-zone

Arts & Culture

Rock Engravings National Park of Naquane Established in 1955, this was the first Italian archaeological park. It serves to protect and make available for public visits one of the most important groups of rocks with prehistoric and proto-historical engravings in Valle Camonica and is the focal point of the network of rock art parks that has grown up since the 1970s. The park covers an area of over 14 hectares in Naquane locality, on the eastern side of Valle Camonica, at an altitude of between 400 and 600 m. It contains 104 engraved rocks, in a setting dominated by chestnut, fir, beech and hornbeam, and crossed by the ancient road between Paspardo and Nadro. http://www.parcoincisioni.capodip

Sightseeing

Montisola is the largest lake island in Europe. On the island you will feel as if you have gone back in time since there are no cars, except for the priest’s, the doctor’s and the mayor’s. The only vehicles allowed on the island are a public bus, motorbikes belonging to residents and bicycles, which can be ferried across or rented on site. Montisola is linked to the mainland by a ferry service and the handiest and closest point from which you can reach the island is Sulzano. Here you can catch the ferry to Peschiera Maraglio, an old village of fishermen and craftsmen where fishing and hunting nets are produced. This village is very characteristic with the 17th https://www.visitlakeiseo.info
