Only 10 minuters from our place, this park is as wild and eventful as any other game sanctuaries in Kenya. Though Elephants are absent, the rest of the big five can be found. Nairobi National Park is unique by being the only protected area in the world with variety of animals close to the city.

“A lifetime dedicated to the protection and preservation of Africa’s Wilderness and its denizens, particularly endangered species such as elephants and black rhino” Daphne is the wife of David Sheldrick, a famous game warden based in Tsavo National Park who died in the 1970's. During his time there, Daphne fostered many orphan animals. After his death, she established David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where she again fostered orphans, based in Nairobi Game Park, about thirty minutes out of Nairobi. She is the first person in the world to succeed in bringing up orphan elephants under one year old. Visiting hours 11am-12 noon daily.

“I had a farm in Africa, at the foot of Ngong Hills…..” So is our cottage, and you can visit The Karen Blixen Museum. For those lovers of “Out of Africa” the museum will help you take you back in time to breathe the spirit of the writer and the lives she immortalized. The Museum, originally built in 1912, was the home of the Danish author Baroness Karen Blixen and in 1986 it was converted into one of the National Museums of Kenya.
