If you find yourself craving a hot bowl of ramen noodle soup, pork or veggie dumplings, Korean fried chicken, sushi, or any number of Northeast Asian specialties, you must head to Samurai Bowl. Less than a block away from your suite, you can get takeout and it will still be hot when you get home. And we love the fact they also sell beer to go, when you're in a pinch. If you're calling ahead, be sure to call the Creekside location on Innsbruck Drive. 604-935-0055

The Valley Trail and the hiking trail network in Whistler is outstanding. The best app to see the entire network is Trailforks, and it’s worth getting the paid version. You can toggle between mountain bike or hiking to see the different trail options.

There are so many great trails in the area that it’s hard to choose, but one very big, showcase route would be to hike Black Tusk. Located in Garibaldi Provincial Park, Black Tusk is the most spectacular mountain in the area. Generally considered a challenging route, it can take 10 to 12 hours to complete. This is a very popular area for backpacking, camping, and hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are July through October.

Neighbourhoods

The history of Whistler, starts in Whistler Creekside Village. Whistler officially opened itself to the world in February 1966! On opening day the mountain was equipped with one six person gondola, The Red chairlift and two T-bars. These four lifts powered the entire mountain, in comparison to the 79 total lifts that power Whistler Blackcomb today. The area of Creekside lies approximately 5km south of Whistler Village on Route 99 – The Sea-to-Sky Highway. It is your first glimpse of Whistler when arriving from Vancouver. The area is well-connected by public transit and by various shuttles from YVR airport or downtown Vancouver. In warmer months, visitors enjoy exploring the Valley Trail system by foot or by bicycle. This links all of Whistler’s communities via more than 40km of paved trails! Whistler Creekside is the perfect option for guests looking for a laid back atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of Whistler Village. Whistler is well-known as being a hot spot of world-class dining, and TripAdvisor's top two local restaurants (Red Door Bistro and Rimrock Café) are in Creekside. Creekside après and nightlife means grabbing a pint at Dusty's Bar & Grill, a late dinner at Creekbread, or a cozy night in front of your own private fireplace. Perfect for families and couples in need of a little rest and relaxation. Creekside days are spent on the hill, browsing the Village, visiting the lakes or going wherever your feet take you!

What to pack

Sandals, slippers and snow boots in winter

We are huge advocates for having the right footwear for the experience. Be sure to pack light pool sandals to walk to the hot tub and back, snow boots if you need to go farther outdoors, and slippers to relax in afterwards.
