Food scene

The marché d'Aligre is the soul of this neighbourhood. Open from Tuesday to Sunday during the morning, it offers high quality food products. I also reccomend visiting the covered marché, I love the pastries at Sweet Romance.

If you are looking for a meal at a nicer restaurant, I would recommend the Italian Passerini. It won Le Fooding’s pick for Best Chef 2017 and it has a fantastic ambiance. You can thank me later.

Just got to Paris and can't wait to get a crêpe? Good news, 30 seconds away from the apartment there is Le goéland d'Aligre. They offer both classic and more modern crêpes and the chef and his team are really friendly.

In his dimly-lit tavern (sixties light fixtures, neon red lights) in the beautiful rue de Cotte, chef Charlie Genevière welcomes in crowds with a vast selection of natural wines. Good vibes!

Sightseeing

Just like th High Line of New York, la Coulée Verte is a park constructed over old train lines. Very close to the appartement (accessible through the Rue Hector Malot) , it is a beautiful long park. I love going for a morning run or an afternoon stroll on this park.

If it looks like there is going to be a nice sunset head to the Laho Rooftop. It has a very nice ambiance and a beautiful view over the river Seine.

Bars & caves

Fun bar near the apartment next to the Viaduct des Arts. It has good beer, a good ambiance and live music. The bar upstairs also carries Club Mate, always a plus in my book. What else do you need?

Le Baron Rouge is a classic in the Aligre neighbourhood. Perfect for a nice glass of wine and fresh oysters (during winter) after the market ends. People gather outside every day to chat and enjoy Parisian life.

Venture just two blocks away from the apartment and you’ll land on charming Les Caves de Prague. Its slightly off-the-beaten-path placement means it is less touristy and prices remain very approachable. What’s more, Manager, Thomas, serves a curated selection of bottles with an honest warmth and clear passion for wine.

If you haven't, you have to try Natural wines. You may sit down for a glass or buy a bottle to go at the cave Ici-même in rue Charenton. These wines are becoming quite trendy in Paris not only for being more healthy (and giving less hangover) but also because of their fantastic taste.

Coffee shop

I know a good coffee when I taste one! Passager Café is quickly becoming the neighborhood’s favorite new coffee shop. Located in the 11th just north of the Ledru-Rollin metro station, the simple and sophisticated space was opened by blogueuse, Fannyb, and sources its beans from Berlin favorite, Five Elephant.
