The village has lanes every hundred yards or so leading up to the higher ground, which were used to bring livestock down to water and make great walking paths

The old railway line from Buxton to Bakewell is now the Monsal Trail, very flat, great for walking and cycling with interesting tunnels

Very friendly smaal town four miles from the cottage. The parish church is enormous and gives Tideswell its name of "The Cathedral of the Peak"
