A decorative sign posted on Værnedamsvej leads the way to a lovely backyard, housing the Granola coffee lounge. Granola offers freshly-brewed coffee, great creamy ice-cream, Summerbird chocolates and fruity milk-shakes from the good old days. Granola is also serving breakfast, brunch and dinner. The place reeks with nostalgia. There is a priceless old coffee mill in the middle of the room, colourful enamel signs, music from the 50s and 60s, and an old counter from the long gone days of colonial trade. There are often lots of people hanging out at Granola but that is just some of the charm being at Værnedamsvej.

As Denmark’s biggest food court, WestMarket in Vesterbro is the go-to place for all street food lovers, whether it’s for freshly baked morning bread, a quick lunch or drinks after work. It is really a combination between a marketplace and a hangout spot, and some of the stands are great for grocery shopping or finding that French specialty that no supermarket ever has. You’ll find everything from fresh veggies to greasy burgers, and there are plenty of different cuisines to dive into. You can even get an extravagant gin and tonic served in a golden quince cup if you’d like. I bet you never had your drink like that before! You can take a walk in Istedgade after feast.

From their slick, modernist, yet Scandinavian "hyggelige" coffee shops, The Coffee Collective make coffee with care and want to give you an exceptional coffee experience. They do so by focusing on the entire process of the coffee making. The Coffe Collective is a micro roastery with two coffee shops (Torvehallerne and Gothåbsvej) and a coffee school. In order to achieve their goal of making the best coffee, they are cooperating with farmers to develop a sustainable production and to improve the quality of the coffee. The atmosphere at The Coffee Collective in the super charming Jægersborggade is inviting, and the baristas greet you with a smile.

This one is a no-brainer: the colourful houses in Nyhavn, its central position and Hans Christian Andersen's house make it one of the most attractive spots to take pictures. The “new harbour” is actually the oldest harbour of Copenhagen, as you can learn from the guide in one of the canal tours departing from there – another highly recommended way to capture Instagram-worthy shots of the city from the water.
