Although the estate is private, there are footpaths running through the deer park and the seven mile ride is a permitted path. Dogs must be kept on a lead. The gardens are open about three times a year and well worth a visit. You can find the dates on the Badminton House website. The famous horse trials are held annually in May, this is a spectacular event and pre booking is recommended especially for showjumping day.
