Avarua Township is a short drive of less than 3 minutes from the property by car/bike or walking would be less than 15 minutes. You will find plenty of eateries, takeaways and supermarket. The Avatiu Harbour is nearby, in fact you can see it from your accommodation. Right next to it is the Punanga Nui Market opened daily for buying local crafts and local farmers vegetables. On Saturday mornings is the big market day with more vendors selling cooked food, local crafts, local produce or just a venue to relax and enjoy the Cook Islands people and its culture.

This location is about 3 minutes drive from your accommodation. On Wednesdays, they have their popular $3.50 burger specials from 10am to 8pm, or keep an eye out on their boards specials each day.

Getting around
Getting out and about
1. Renting a small car during your stay would be the best way to get around and see the place.
2. Public transport is available, but you have to walk down to the mainroad (backroad Nikao) to catch the anticlockwise bus.
3. You can rent a scooter to get around, but dogs and unpredictable weather can be an issue.

The Saturday Punanganui Market is a Must Do.
The Punanganui Market is a short drive from your accommodation. Near the Avatiu Harbour opens 6am to 12pm every Saturdays. Plan an all morning visit to enjoy some local food or to shop for your crops and veges for your stay. Plenty of local crafts for souvenirs or gifts for your loved ones back home. There are also a few nearby cafes at the market with beautiful coffee. This is a must do.

Nikao Night Market happens on Thursday evening from 4pm to 8pm each week. You will find plenty of food vendors and you can enjoy your meal on the beach with plenty seatings while listening to a live band. A must do and try to be amongst the friendly locals.
