Arguably the BEST restaurant in Raleigh, and even though the wait might be long (they don't take reservations!) it is ALWAYS worth it. Plus the outdoor seating and excellent cocktails always makes the wait go faster.

Speakeasy in the heart of Raleigh at Moore Square! Everything about this place is fun, from the velvet rope and doorman to the steps that lead you underground and through a maze of corridors before you arrive at a grand carved out space that leads to the best outdoor patio in Raleigh.

Neighborhoods

Great little neighborhood just a five minute drive from the townhouse! Person St. has the best pizza (Oakwood Pizza Box), the best doughnuts, (Krispy Kreme) and the prize-winning Two Roosters Ice Cream not to mention Standard Beer and Food, Edge of Urge and Unlikely Professionals (two of the best and most interesting clothing and gift boutiques in the area). Person Street is also home to The Station, (great burgers) and the Person Street Bar (pinball and pool), Jolie/Crawford and Son (upscale dining), William and Company and Pelagic (two cozy neighborhood bars). Trendy, always happening on the weekends with bars and live music. Location of two of our favorites, C. Grace and Sushi Blues, not to mention the Hibernian, Raleigh Beer Garden, Tin Roof and so many others.

Recently re-named The Village District, this area was built the same time as our townhouse and remains the go-to shopping and dining destination for Raleigh. Our favorite dining spots include: Tazza (farm to table), Cantina 18 (TexMex), and The Village Drafthouse (burgers and beers). But that just scratches the surface! The Village District is also home to a Starbucks with arguably the best patio in all of Raleigh (you can see the Raleigh skyline from there), Fresh Market, Harris Teeter, Walgreens and of course the amazing and much loved Village Library. Don't forget to do some shopping! From outdoor gear at The Outdoor Provision Company to fancy dress at Kannon's they have it all, and best of all it's a delightful 5-minute stroll from the townhouse! Live music

Do you like live music? Partial to jazz and songstresses and smoky quartets with martinis and whisky neat? This place is for you (and anyone else for that matter, check out their website if you don't believe me!) https://www.cgracebar.com Located on Glenwood South, this is a very easy 5 minute drive from the townhouse! Hot tip: Get there by 7:30 on a Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday to get a table. On weekends the music starts later...but you should still arrive by 7:30 if you want a good seat!

This place will keep you AND your kids entertained for hours. Afterwards, relax in Moore Square Park right outside the museum doors, and maybe get a bite to eat at one of the many amazing restaurants that surround the square.
