Sightseeing

There is so much to see and do in Killarney National Park. It's just a 15 minute drive to Killarney town from us and you can park up in the town and rent a bicycle or explore the park on foot. You can enjoy a relaxing trip around the park in a horse-drawn jaunting cart. These can be rented at many spots around Killarney, including the town centre (outside the Ross Hotel/Killarney Plaza hotel) or out in Muckross House. THE BLUE POOL One of THE best kept secrets in Killarney - such a lovely little walk in the woods and on a nice day the water is turquoise. Park at the Muckross Park Hotel and follow the signs.

An absolute must visit is the historic Muckross House and Gardens. Take a tour of the house or just meander around the gardens - beautiful in any season. There are plenty of walks you can take from the house - walk around the lakes, take a walk to Muckross Abbey, Ross Castle or Torc Waterfall. Bring your trainers!! Or bring a picnic blanket and take in the stunning surroundings. Tip! Don't forget to check out the Edwardian glasshouse.

Don't miss the 15th century Ross Castle (it's about a 30 minute walk from the town centre but there's plenty of parking if you want to take the car). You can take a boat tour around the Lakes of Killarney from here. Tip! Take a walk around Ross Island and see the old Copper Mine - you can walk along the stony lakeshore and the woods are absolutely filled with bluebells in Spring - it's the perfect photo opp!
