Unfussy seafood & steaks - restaurant deck + pretty river views. If you have dogs, they can go swimming in the river behind the restaurant where the docks are located. The water is not deep and you'll be able to walk in with them so good for introducing water to puppies. It's informal and the best price (free!).

Our favorite bakery located on gorgeous all back roads south in Bernardston, MA. They make craveable high-quality pastries, and more. Where do I start? They have No. Six Depot coffee + our all time favorite breakfast quiches and breakfast sandwiches on croissants. Thursdays are extra special because they do truly phenomenal donuts – always a different flavor, announced that morning on social media. You can even get pre-made frozen chicken pot pie and other dinner delights. Plus they offer high quality salads to go every day. There is an outdoor seating area. Note: they are popular and if you go too late, they might have sold out of the item you have your heart set on. Go early or call ahead to confirm they are in stock (especially donut day)!

Swimming Hole

Great spot by the water – swimming under the waterfall or playing with your little one or fur baby above the waterfall in the shallower water. If you like to run, River Road is a beautiful dirt road – we usually run in and back out then take a refreshing dunk under the waterfall. Parking is informal and not marked. Best to drive through the covered bridge, turn left onto River road, and park alongside the river there.

Walking Distance

The Guilford Fairgrounds are adjacent to the property – just a couple fields and woods away. The Fair operates once a year over Labor Day Weekend. Otherwise the fairgrounds are typically empty with occasional use by the local community for gatherings or small events. You are welcome to walk your dogs on leash or take a stroll – it's a pretty spot near the hollow with a stream that our pup loves to play in.
