The views of the majestic Olympic Mountains from the Hurricane Ridge lodge are breathtaking. If you like the outdoors, you don't want to miss this. A wonderful hike for the whole family is Hurricane Hill...the entire path is paved, which makes easy walking for little feet. The views and snowy patches (regardless the time of year) are worth the 15 mile drive up the mountain. But head up early, as the parking lot fills up quickly. If you want more of a strenuous hike...Klahhane Ridge or Obstruction Point are favorites...and the views are out of this world. Just do it!

From downtown Port Angeles, you can see Ediz Hook sticking out beyond the harbor. Bike or drive west along the waterfront...the road will lead you through the paper mill and onto the 3 mile long spit. The U.S. Coast Guard base is located at the end of the spit. From the end of the spit, enjoy sweeping views of Port Angeles, Klahhane Ridge and the Olympic Mountains. Also a great place to paddle around in a kayak or SUP. It's not uncommon to see seals or otters playing in the kelp.
