Road closures in the winter
The Sonora Pass and Tioga Pass are tricky drives in the winter, and are usually closed then, and/or require carrying chains or a 4-wheel drive vehicle to navigate safely. Inform yourself of road closures ahead of time.

Yosemite is an extremely popular destination. Consider making the reservations ahead of time to ensure access. In 2020, the park was accessible by permit only, so make sure you familiarize yourself with the current rules when planning a visit.
