This is a bit of everything. It has great food ( Monday nights there are pizza and burger specials ) - try there zucchini fries - AMAZING ... It is not only good for food, but also a meeting place for the 20 - 50 year old's to have drinks after work, or try various craft beer. This is a very popular ' place to be' at the moment.

THE BEST RIBS AND CHIPS IN TOWN. Jose, the owner welcomes you personally to his Portuguese restaurant, and serves you too. There is no liquor licence, so you can take your own drinks. The food sometimes takes an hour or so to arrive if you are in groups of 10 or more, but trust me - it is worth every hunger pain for the wait. No need for knives and forks - just dig in... Just wear a baggy top- you wont be able to pull your stomach in. This is really a relaxed vibe, and definitely the best, hands down !!!!

Sightseeing

Port Elizabeth owes its origin and development to a large extent to the arrival of the British Settlers in 1820. At the time of their arrival Governor Lord Charles Somerset was on leave in England and Sir Rufane Donkin acted for him from 13 January, 18 . The Donkin's position assists in observing and protecting the whole bay. This has also been updated with modern amenities, and sometimes hosts the down hill ' skateboarding battles' in the bay.

In honour of all the fallen horses in the wars, this memorial unfortunately experienced some vandalism in 2015 during a phase of ' all British memorials must fall'. The memorial was vandalized, and the water bucket, that was cast iron was broken off, and the memorial damaged. You are still able to see the Horse and the soldier bent down on one knee.

Parks & Nature

You should visit the Addo Elephant Park which is close to Port Elizabeth. The National Park is MUCH cheaper than any private game reserves. The original elephant section of the park was proclaimed in 1931, when only eleven elephants habituated the area. Today this finely-tuned ecosystem is a sanctuary to over 600 elephant, lion, buffalo, black rhino, spotted hyena, leopard, a variety of antelope and zebra species, as well as the unique Addo flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo. The park can exclusively claim to be the only national park in the world to conserve the “Big 7” – the Big 5 as well as the southern right whale and great white shark off the Algoa Bay coast.
