Here are our recommendations for beaches in the local area. It goes from the large public bathing beach to the secret bathing place, if you just want a quick trip in the Sound.

Ever since its inauguration in 1866, the Port of Taarbæk has been the focal point of life in Taarbæk. Here was Taarbæk's first settlement and "Thor's brook", which gave the town its name, ran in an open ditch from Dyrehaven directly into the harbour. There are small bathing jetties and lawns that can be used. Ideal for families with children, shallow waters and bathing jetties for the adults.
