There are nice small stores, several cafes and restaurants in former industrial buildings. My favorites are F-Hoone and La Tabla. On Saturdays there`s a flee market.

This is the newest addition to Tallinn market scene. Old market halls made of limestone were restored and new structures were added. It all looks great and houses lot of different shops - from simple vegetable & fruit stalls to antiques. Nice street food as well.

Sightseeing

It`s the oldedst church in Tallinn, officially Estonian Lutheran, but I would call it 'noble lutheran', because of the aristocratic heritage you see there - about 100 coat of arms, tomb stones etc.

The best viewpoint in the Upper Town/Dome Hill! The LUSCHER & MATIESEN shop and the museum of Estonian drink`s culture in the former wine cellars is around the corner on the way to Patkuli viewpoint.

The best viewpoint in the Upper Town/Dome Hill! The LUSCHER & MATIESEN shop and the museum of Estonian drink`s culture in the former wine cellars is around the corner on the way to Patkuli viewpoint.
The second best viewpoint on the Dome Hill. To have some exercise go down the staircases, take a look at the impressive natural limestone hill with mediaeval walls and then climb up again!

The new branch of the Estonian Maritime Museum was opened in spring 2012 and has become hugely popular. There are not so many places where you go into both a submarine and an icebreaker!

The new innovative exibition in a 15-century merchant house will give you a quick overview about the Estonian history without being tiresome to follow. There`s also an interesting weapon`s chamber.

A lovely small mediaeval church on our street opposite the Great Guild Hall history museum. It has numerous pieces of art made of wood.

Entertainment & Activities

The best museum-playhouse for children! There are also nice playgrounds in front of the house. My daughter has visited it for years and does not get bored. There`s cafe as well with very good prices.

The biggest and the nicest park in Tallinn. Full of all kind of museums (mainly art), playgrounds for children, cafes, restaurants etc. Close to the sea, includes a new Japanese garden. The office of our president is also there.

You could take a bus (lines 1, 1A, 8, 34, 38) from Viru bus terminal towards Pirita and get off on the half way when you see the sea of your left hand side. The promenade is the best place for panoramic pictures, jogging, walking, sea bird watching etc. You could meet me doing the nordic walking there..))

A small park surrounding a part of the Lower Old Town. It has a nice playground for children and offers great views to the old city wall and towers. At summertime you could also see the Tallinn Flower Festival there.
