If you want a quieter beach experience than Folly Beach, we recommend Isle of Palms or the beach at Sullivan's Island. Both are near each other and both great options. There is a paid area on Isle Palms if you'd like the convenience of easy parking and showers

You say you want to go dancing but you're on a budget? The Charleston Swing Dance Association has a weekly Sat. night dance here no partner needed. Lessons provided and yes its a cheap date! My wife and I have been going for years.
