Good beach, worth a walk along and seeing the tank which was salvaged from the sea. A remnant of the WWII where the Americans trained along this coastline and widespread requisitioning of barns and buildings took place.

We love going to Beesands, walking along this bit of coastline, with wild seas, which keeps claiming more of this wonderful coast line, road and buildings. The Cricketers Arms is a great pub, the food there is amazing and is a mainstay of our visits to the area..

The nearest dog friendly beach to Dartmouth. Best at low tide. Lots of rock pools to explore.. A mix of sand, shingle and pebbles. You can swim off this beach but the castle beach is better (below castle museum) you will need to be careful of the slippery rocks at either beach..

The pub which is the best for evening sun, you can sit on the quayside and watch the boats come past and the lower ferry come backwards and forwards.

City/town information

Great town with lots of local independent retailers. Historic Castle at centre, great food options. Even a good museum showing the ancestors of some of the Pilgrim fathers.. Worth a visit..
