Great in the summer with an excellent outdoor kitchen and mini music festivals. It's about a mile and a half to walk there, along the river but can also be approached on a longer walk via the Murrayfield lead mines and then stagger home along the river. Always a good atmosphere.

The outdoor terrace is a great place to sit on a summer afternoon; great views across the Dale. It is an 'over 16s' venue so not really family friendly. Can be taken in on a circular 3 mile walk from Folly View.

The Sportsman's is perhaps your higher end type of place but if it's just a drink you're after you can still enjoy a pint in the garden after a two mile walk along the river. The food is reputedly very good.

Great pub with fine ales and excellent food but it is four miles away in Dacre. Can be combined with several circular walks in that area. Has an excellent pool room.

This is a great, small pub in Middlesmoor at the head of Nidderdale. It is 7 miles away but well worth visiting. The views from the churchyard are superb. Ring ahead to check opening times and table availability but great to sit outside with a pint and enjoy the mood.
