This is a colorful, picturesque town. When people think "Nova Scotia", this town is at the top of the list. It has cute shops, great restaurants, super ice-cream shops. It is artsy, and it is home to the Bluenose. Only 35 minutes away from our house.

This is a cute town. The houses are gorgeous, it is easy to walk around. The people are very friendly.

This is such a cute town. It is smaller than Lunenburg, but has lots of shops and restaurants too. There is a bike path that links Chester to Mahone Bay to Lunenburg. We have two bikes you can use and a bike rack in the bunkie. It is a dream of mine to bike from our house to Mahone Bay for lunch. I believe it is only 20kms from our house.

This is such a cute town. It is smaller than Lunenburg, but has lots of shops and restaurants too. There is a bike path that links Chester to Mahone Bay to Lunenburg. Food scene
This is an incredibly picturesque little restaurant right on the ocean. Their seafood chowder is my favorite. You do not need reservations. If the restaurant is full, you can walk on the wharf and look for jellyfish or other sea creatures.

This is 7 minutes away from the house. We have a growler in the pantry that you can use if you want to buy beer. I enjoyed their beer. It is a cute little micro-brewery and you can sit in the garden too if you want to enjoy a little tasting.

You can also buy fresh/frozen seafood here. Again, this shop is only 8 minutes away. I highly recommend this place for the smoked salmon.

You can also buy fresh/frozen seafood here. Again, this shop is only 8 minutes away. I highly recommend this place for the smoked salmon.
I haven't been yet, but I have heard excellent reviews. Only 8 minutes away and close to the convenience store I recommended (Meat Market). Apparently, they also have the best seafood chowder in the world. Let us know what you think.

This is a very busy restaurant. There are often line-ups for take-away. It is right in the middle of the village (Chester). It also has a cute kitchen shop for buying souvenirs or frozen dinners.

This is the oldest pub in Nova Scotia. The food and atmosphere is great. Hopefully, you get the charming and exuberant waiter; he will make your day. The Fo'c'sle Burger is my favorite. Actually, it is the only item our family ever orders. The pub is right in the middle of Chester.

What a view!!! This is a great place to grab a summer lunch overlooking the ocean and the greens. You will sigh with contentment on this deck. Non-members are welcome to dine at the club.
