This is a real treat place. Very high class hotel in Braemar. Owned by a Swiss art dealing couple so you can have afternoon tea under a Picasso and there’s a Lucien Freud in the lobby. Worth a visit for the art alone.

Over 20 tows and lifts - if the snow is here and the roads open, there is some (perhaps surprisingly) great ski-ing to be had just 45 minutes north of Rosebank.

We’ll known for its annually returning ospreys, there are a few hides with scopes focussed on the osprey nest. Plenty of other birds to see as well.

Traveler advice

Getting around

You will really need a car

The nearest train stations are in Perth, (30 minutes away by car) and Dunkeld, (also about 30 minutes by car). Buses can take you to Perth and Dundee but are infrequent.
