The pub is w/i walking distance of our house. They have good food slightly higher-priced than you average Irish pub. They usually have 3 or 4 local and/or craft beers on tap. Authentic Irish atmosphere (i.e. do not expect to pop in & out--they take their time!). Nice outdoor areas for eating too.

Whitneyville Market is convenient and has a great selection of commonly needed ingredients. They also offer a fair craft beer selection and their deli has grass fed hamburgers that are yummy! Organic & local selections mean that the prices are higher than your average grocery store.

We choose Prime 16 for the intimate setting, good food, and large selection of craft beers on tap. Burgers are renowned, but we recommend that apps. Fried pickles & pretzels!!

Parks & Nature
East Rock has a great hiking trail that goes all the way up a mountain; the views at the top are worth the climb. you can also drive up part of the way.
