The Kyoto Botanical Garden is a favorite place for visitors to Kyoto and Kyotoites themselves to stroll and picnic, especially in spring for the cherry blossom season and in fall for the autumn leaves. Regular light ups at night also attract people and a good place to keep warm in winter is at the spectacular conservatory (see the video below).

Kyoto International Manga Museum was established as a joint project of Kyoto City and Kyoto Seika University which opened Japan’s first faculty of manga. The building of the former Tatsuike Primary School, which was closed down, was renovated to open the museum. It also has at its core a function as the research center of the University.

This set depicts a street from the Edo period, and is used to shoot more than 200 films per year.
