Activities

The Point Wells Hall and Library is well utilised by the local community, sitting in the heart of the village (just a few hundred metres from our accommodation) and surrounded by extensive playgrounds, croquet green, tennis courts and basketball court which are freely available for all to use.

The Point Wells Hall and Library is well utilised by the local community, sitting in the heart of the village (just a few hundred metres from our accommodation) and surrounded by extensive playgrounds, croquet green, tennis courts and basketball court which are freely available for all to use.
The stunning Whangateau Harbour is accessible from many points around the village; just head out your door, turn right and start walking! Within a few hundred metres you'll come across a broad grassy esplanade reserve where you can stroll along the waterfront. Swimming is best at high tide for about an hour either side and summer water temperatures can be several degrees higher than Omaha. There are many jetties which are perfect for jumping off and a boat ramp at the Northern end for boaties. Some of the safest waters around, ideal for kayaking, swimming, paddleboarding and snorkeling.
