Fort De Soto Park has consistently been ranked as one of the top ten (many times #1) best beaches. If you go, drive all the way to pavilion one and access the beach from there. It is worth the extra few minutes drive. Crystal-clear beautiful water and sugar white sand await! Note: there is a small fee to get in the park. I think $5 per car and there is a small toll along the way too (roughly .75 cents).
