Sightseeing
Jugs is almost the end of the road and is right at the edge of the levee. Jugs is mostly just a boat launch however we recommend making the drive just to see all of the commercial fishing that dominates that area. Things can seem kinda messy but its life on and near the water. If you see a shrimp boat coming in, don't be shy about asking if they have any fresh shrimp. Folks are friendly and will be interested to know where you are from.

Ardoyne is one of the most beautiful antebellum homes you will see. Besides being stunning, it is occupied and lovingly cared for by the same family since it was constructed in the 1800's. Wonderful hosts and not to be missed.

Essentials
The Dollar General is 10 minutes back towards town and is like our own Dularge Walmart. It doesn't have everything but it has alot including food items and even cold beer. Everything might not be top shelf but it works for us. For a great local grocery store, we recommend Rouse's on St Charles Street in Houma,

We love the marina at Falgout Canal. Its not much to look at but its a non stop hub of boats coming and going of all types. Our favorite thing to do is to get a hamburger from the grill (grill closes at 2) and a cold beverage and sit on the deck. Easy, cheap and fun.

Getting Around
There is a public transit system but it doesn't come down as far as our apartments. Still, if you are in town its available. If you have a car, thats really the way to go.
