Located in the quaint village of Shushan, NY. Tour the grounds, fly fish if that's your thing (located in the trophy section of the Battenkill River), and wade into the Battenkill. Pro tip- visit Yushak's Supermarket while you're in Shushan for some amazing sausage. Shushan also has a covered bridge and a one room schoolhouse museum!

Another great place to apple pick this season. Check their facebook before you go...they were picked out early last year. Their cider donuts are worth the wait! It past year's they've had a small petting zoo for kids (and adults who love farm animals, like me)! A little further of a drive from the schoolhouse, about 20 minutes.

Food scene
Yummy local brewery. Stop by for a pint or get a growler to go. There's often a food truck parked outside on evenings and weekends in Greenwich. Lately its been Miller's Backyard BBQ, super tasty! It does sell out - call in advance to reserve your meal! Two locations: Greenwich has a small indoor tap room and outdoor seating in the alley, Cambridge is located in a historic train station and sometimes has live music.

Traveler advice

Getting around

Craving some shopping and night life? Head to Saratoga!

We love our rural setting and local farm stores but If you are looking to travel a little further from the schoolhouse (about 20 minutes) check out Saratoga Springs. This small city has a great downtown with specialty shops, a variety of restaurants and bars and beautiful architecture. Take a walk down Broadway and visit Congress Park.
What to pack

Have Some Cash : )

We love swiping our cards too but out here some of the smaller places are cash only. We still forget half the time and dive for quarters in our car. It helps to carry a little cash...especially for ice cream!
Customs & culture

Everything is seasonal here!

Check facebook pages and websites of local farm stores and breweries for the most up to date information and hours.
