"The Most Beautiful Village in England" Difficult to dispute this. Only a 15/20 minute drive from The Wilde. Try and avoid it at weekends (many tourists) and best to visit early morning or late evening.

A photograhper's dream. Quintessentially Cotswolds. Take a walk up and down the Hill to admire the glorious Cotswold stone properties. My favourite street? Sheep Street. Why not pop in for lunch at The Lamb on Sheep Street while you are there? Booking recommended.

Atmospheric Cotswold pub and restaurant serving up fine food. Recently taken over by the Lucky Onion group, the place retains it's cosy feel and has space for larger groups. Booking essential at weekends. For more informal dining food can be ordered in the bar area.

A visit to The Ox Barn restaurant is essential for special occasions. It may be a bit on the pricey side, but this is a favourite haunt of mine. Relax with a per dinner cocktail in the sumptuous lounge area, and then revel in the scrumptious food served in the restaurant. For those who wish to have a more informal lunch or supper they also run the popular Swan Inn pub, which is only a couple of mins walk from The Ox Barn. Booking essential.

No visit to the Cotswolds is complete without taking in the beautiful town of Burford, just six miles from The Wilde, with it's jaw droppingly impressive architecture, quaint tearooms, and wonderful independent shops and bookstores. The Lamb is a particular favourite for either lunch or dinner, either in the bar area or the more formal dining room.
