Food Scene

Awesome coal-oven pizzas, wonderful pastas and craft beer. Best to go before 8 when it gets a bit crowded. They have a lovely outdoor patio if the weather is nice. I recommend the burrata and tomato toast as well as the mushroom.

There are many good Greek restaurants, but this is a must since it by Astoria Park and the food is really fresh. You must try the zucchini croquettes and the cabbage salad. I also like their whiting.

One of my favorite wine and cheese places in the city. Amazing small plates and locally-sourced cheeses with a great wine list. Good very early because it is small and they do not take reservations. I recommend getting there when it opens at 5pm.

Beautiful park located in one of my favorite neighborhoods in all of NYC - the Village. Beyond the people watching, there is usually entertainment. I would recommend going mid-afternoon or at night.

If it is still summer when you visit, it is worth the ferry ride to experience New Yorkers at the beach. The water can be a bit rough so be careful. Make sure you get some Venezuelan arepas on the boardwalk - delicious.
