Drinks & Nightlife

I've been eating and drinking at La Hacienda since the mid-90's. The decor hasn't changed - part of its charm. The Mexican menu is all the hits - nachos, tacos, burritos - for all kinds of diets. Reasonably priced and the back patio is a hidden gem in summer.

The Dakota is a gem in my neighbourhood. Basement bar with great live music, friendly staff. They host a bluegrass brunch and a 'Good Enough Live Karaoke' night, if you have ever wanted to front a live band.

Essentials

FreshCo is close and great for grocery shopping but have a plan B if you are planning meals. The day you want basil because you are craving a caprese salad will be the day they don't have basil. The store can sometimes look like you just missed a feeding frenzy, but the prices are great and location convenient, so you put up with the lack of stock of certain items.
