The Olympic discovery trail access nearest the cottage is located on Georgiana and Francis Street (to the west), At the corner of Georgiana/Francis streets, turn down toward the water, this is just one Olympic Discovery Trail access point at 911 Memorial Park. The Olympic Discovery Trail continues for many miles from there to the east and to the west.

The Olympic discovery trail access nearest the cottage is located on Georgiana and Francis Street (to the west), At the corner of Georgiana/Francis streets, turn down toward the water, this is just one Olympic Discovery Trail access point at 911 Memorial Park. The Olympic Discovery Trail continues for many miles from there to the east and to the west.
The Hoh Rainforest is approximately a 2 Hour drive from the cottage. You’ll head west on Hwy101. This will be a long day and well worth the sightseeing experience. You will have the opportunity to depart from 101 at the Elwha Bridge to visit Madison Falls. Drive up the Elwha valley to the Nat Park entrance gate, and parking lot(a short drive). Located here is the Madison Falls Trailhead, a very short hike. (Approximately 1/4 mile and well worth the time). Next is Lake Crescent which is where Mary Mere Falls and Lake Crescent Lodge are located. Marymere Falls is a local and touristy favorite it’s approximately a 1 mile hike. Lake Crescent Lodge is a great historic Inn near Marymere Falls. Upon leaving the highway, turn right at the first stop sign for Marymere Falls, turn left at the first stop sign for Lake Crescent Lodge. Continue west on Highway 101 to Sol Duc Valley turn off. This is a must see drive up the Sol Duc Valley where are you will see many many old growth Douglas Fir and Western Cedar trees. The drive up the Sol Duc Valley is approximately 12 miles and well worth the time. At the end of the road you will find the trail head to Sol Duc Falls which is a 1 mile hike and is one of the most beautiful waterfalls you’ll ever see. As you continue west on Highway 101 you will enter the town of Forks, Washington. Forks is mostly known for its Historic Logging, and also the Twilight Book and Movie Series. As you continue on Highway 101 you will come to the Pacific Coast, Ruby Beach and Kalaloch Campground and Lodge. Just a little further and you will be arriving at the Hoh Rainforest.
