The best beach in the State of Maine. LEAVE EARLY, like 7am, in the summer, for the scenic drive to Popham Beach Sate Park. Secluded so pack your picnic. You will see a line of cars on the right...GET IN THE LINE to get into the park!!! Did I say leave early? you will thank me.

Drive to Portland and park in the terminal. Take the MAIL BOAT RUN Monday-Saturday. This will give you the very cheap way of seeing all of Casco Bay. Narrated in the summer months, the ferry will stop at every (public) island in the bay. Get off at Peaks and rent bikes. Don't forget your sweaters! This is a local secret.
