Sightseeing

It’s quite a climb but the views are absolutely stunning, you will not be disappointed! Also made even more famous by Harry Styles, he shot parts of the music video Sign of the Times here.

Not far from Portree and a great activity for kids, Staffin beach or “Dinosaur beach” as it’s known in our family has actual dinosaur footprints! Again, stunning scenery and just an all round lovely place to visit.

Amazing place to visit, and also quite eerie. The lighthouse is no longer occupied but the walk down there is worth it and on a clear day you can see the Outer Hebrides. Not recommended for younger children (unless they are strapped to an adult!) as the cliffs are treacherous. Ever since the Skye Bridge opened Neist Point became the most Westerly point of the British mainland.

Food scene

Delicious food, a bit pricier than other places but the food does not disappoint. Highly recommended.

A family favourite of ours, the Sunday lunch in particular is delicious and great value for money - they have the best bread (which they make in-house) and whipped butter! The evening meals are also very good. On a nice day, we like to sit outside with cocktails enjoying the view whilst the kids run about. If it’s cold outside there is a large open fire to enjoy indoors.
