On the other side of Kure is the Fort FIsher Aquarium and also a state Park Beach you can Drive a truck or SUV on. There is also a ferry to Southport which is a great little beach town with lots of shopping and food

Plan on driving or renting a cart to go to town
There are plenty of good places to eat, kids activities, and snack food in downtown CB. You will just need a car to get to them, or rent a golf cart. Sea Witch has good food, but known for its music, outdoor seating, Lots of TV for sports and the most popular place in town. Michael's Seafood has, surprising, great Seafood. Malama Cafe has healthy great breakfast and lunch options(Smoothies). Havanas is pricy, but great food and ambiance. You can rent bikes, surfboards, etc from 2 locations in town Tony Silvagni's surf School and Pleasure Island rentals. Please email me for other options.
