While staying at Gulf Shores Plantation Resort, why not check out historic Fort Morgan, which is only a few miles west of the resort. This fort played a key role during the Civil War by protecting Mobile Bay from incoming ships. Admission is cheap and free for our veterans.

Honestly, all the dolphin cruises in Orange Beach are great. Do a Google search and pick one. You will definitely see dolphins but maybe not as many in the colder months.

This AWESOME state park is THE go-to place for bike riding. Bring your own bike or use one of the free ones available at various points throughout the park. 28 miles of paved trails are outstanding!

Lots of great shops if you want to spend a day shopping. Tanger is about 30 min from Coastal Rays Condo. Take highway 59 north to Foley. The outlets will be on your right.

This is probably our favorite course in Gulf Shores although we haven't played at Peninsula or Kiva Dunes yet. Prices are a bit high for a public course but a fun layout. And the seating area upstairs at the course restaurant is great.

This is our personal favorite restaurant in the Gulf Shores / Orange Beach area. You would be hard pressed to find a restaurant with a combination of great views, atmosphere, and food. Be sure to try the Firecracker Shrimp!

You MUST try LuLu's restaurant while in Gulf Shores. Jimmy Buffet's sister, Lucy, is the owner. Great location. Unfortunately, the food can be hit-or-miss at times. Great environment and vibe though.

We were shocked at how good the food was here after our 1st trip to the zoo. Note: you don't have to visit the zoo in order to eat here. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended!

Beach chairs and umbrellas available to rent on beach
If you do not want to bring or buy beach chairs and/or an umbrella, both can be rented on the beach. As of this writing, the fee is $40 for one day but may have changed. Simply put your stuff in the chairs that you want to rent and the beach attendant will come by to collect payment and get you set up.
