Tahlequah is home to Northeastern University, home of the Cherokee Nation, they have a National Cherokee holiday with a big celebration which is held every Labor Day weekend. Lots of activities during the year, like Red Fern festival, Christmas parade and Fin and Feather festival which is around the 22nd of September goes for the weekend, and more festivals during the year.
