Hiking

Monarch Lake, Strawberry Lake, Doe Creek (all on the south side of Lake Granby). Colorado River Trail (pretty short). Download the CoTrex app. It has all the trails and distances.

Mountain prep

Be sure you are prepared for all weather, as mountain weather can be unpredictable. Dress in layers and prepare for any weather. Sunscreen and chapstick are important essentials for the outdoors. Stay hydrated, as altitude sickness can occur if not accustomed to higher elevations.

The entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park is 4 miles from the cabin. There is a visitor center along the way to the Park.
