This is a lovely place for lunch or dinner. Book a window table for view of the sea. Food is beautifully presented and moderately priced. Probably my favourite place to eat in the area.

If you love the sea and love to walk this has to be one of the best stretches of beaches for walking. Long walks are best when the tide is low. From the house its a short walk to the Ugie bridge at the entrance to Peterhead Golf Course. Walk along the path at the right side of the golf course following the path round to the second beach. Walk down onto the sand and from there you can walk for miles. You will see Rattray Head lighthouse which is the most easterly point on the British mainland. Great beach for dogs.

This is an really interesting place to visit. Slains castle is set on the cliff top near Cruden Bay. You can park at the harbour in Cruden Bay and follow the cliff top path along to the castle or for a shorter walk park near the road and walk the short track to the Castle. Be sure to take your camera as the castle is quite stunning.

Outdoors

https://www.peterheadgolfclub.co.uk Set among the dunes and across the Craigewan links the course is a classic example of Scottish seaside golf at it’s best – and the toughest! Peterhead Golf Club was established in 1841. The current 18 hole layout “Craigewan Links” began as a 9 hole course in 1892, designed by Willie Park Jnr a dual winner of the Open Championship, and was extended to 18 holes in 1908. A second 18 hole course was established in 1923, however today it exists as a 9 hole course, appropriately named the “New Course”.
